Heiva tu'aro ma'ohi

Program of Heiva Tu'aoro Ma'ohi 2016

The traditional sports contests illustrate Polynesian’s strength, dexterity, endurance and skills in several disciplines. These impressive trials kindle admiration in the public who comes in number to attend. Coconut tree climbing, stone lifting, javelin, coconut shelling, copra, fruit carrier race embody some of the most authentic and spectacular Polynesian traditions.

As for Va’a Taie regattas, they take us a few decades back when navigation used to be a matter of wind, water and was about using a single paddle as a rudder. That is just one magical moment amongst all others.
